The Mountain Education Foundation (MEF) is thrilled to announce our highly anticipated events for the 2024-25 school year. Each event is designed to bring our community together and support Signal Mountain’s students and schools, making a meaningful impact through your participation and generosity. We warmly invite everyone to join us for these cornerstone fundraising events that promise fun, fellowship, and a chance to make a difference.
Here’s what we have in store:
New Community Engagement Initiatives
In place of our traditional Back-to-School Bash/Cow Pies & Kickball event, we are introducing new ways to connect with our community. Look for MEF at all registration and back-to-school events across the three schools. We are also excited to announce an MEF Night at one of the home football games – details will be shared soon! These initiatives are designed to enhance community involvement and support our schools in new and exciting ways.
MEF Golf Tournament
Date: September 23, 2024
Location: Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club
We are excited to announce that this year’s golf tournament will be held in collaboration with the Signal Mountain Middle/High School (SMMHS) Sports Boosters. For the first time ever, proceeds from the tournament will be split equally between MEF and the Sports Boosters, supporting both our education and athletic programs. Kurt Keene, MEF board member and Golf Tournament Chair, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We’re excited to partner with the SMMHS Sports Boosters for this year’s tournament. We believe this collaboration will not only draw a larger crowd but also enhance our ability to raise significant funds for both organizations. It’s also an excellent opportunity to involve more SMMHS athletes and highlight their achievements.”
We encourage golfers of all skill levels to join us for a day of friendly competition and community spirit. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a casual player, this event is a wonderful way to support our schools while enjoying a day on the greens.
Celebration for Education
Date: February 1, 2025
Location: Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club
Get ready to dress up and celebrate at one of Signal’s most cherished events of the year. The Celebration for Education promises an evening filled with elegance, excitement, and entertainment. Enjoy live music, participate in a silent auction with fantastic items and experiences, and indulge in delicious food and drinks. The silent auction will again be held online, opening well before the event and closing during the gala. This format allows everyone in the community to participate, not just those in attendance.
This year, for the first time, MEF will be presenting an Educator of the Year Award to honor one outstanding educator from each of our three schools. This award is a special recognition of the hard work and dedication of our teachers, and we are excited to celebrate their contributions to our community at the event.
10th Annual Dash & Bash

This year marks the 10th annual Dash & Bash, making it a not-to-miss event! Join us for this beloved community MEF fundraiser featuring a fun run and vibrant community block party including food, inflatables and activities for all ages. This event is designed to be a festive, family-friendly gathering that celebrates our community while raising funds to support MEF’s mission. It’s a perfect way to engage with neighbors, enjoy the spring weather, and support our schools.
